Entry forms can be picked up from:

  • China Inn Restaurant & Bar, 155 Broadway Ave, Palmerston North
  • China Inn Express, Downtown Foodcourt, Broadway Ave, Palmerston North
  • The Radio Network, 619 Main Street, Palmerston North

The Auditions:

  • Auditions will begin Wednesday the 9th of August at 8pm and will run into the second week the 16th August. All contestants are to sing unaccompanied in front of 4 judges. Songs will be 30 seconds in duration and can be a song of your choice.
  • 12 contestants will be selected to move to the heats for the 23rd and 30th of August.

The Competition:

  • All songs sung for the rest of the competition can only come from the songs available at the China Inn Restaurant & Bar.
  • On the 23rd August, 4 contestants will be eliminated, then again for the 30th leaving only 4 finalists for the final on the 2nd September.
  • Songs for the 2 heats will be sung based on genres. 23rd August genre will be ballads while the 30th is Disco/70's.
  • Contestants can pick their final 2 songs for the final, but must be from the range available at the China Inn Restaurant & Bar.
  • The major prize for the winner is a personal CD cut with coaching by Amy Hunt and recorded at StarZone Karaoke Studio then played on Classic Breakfast along with an interview on air! A trophy sponsored from the China Inn Restaurant & Bar and a undisclosed amount Cash Prize PLUS other sponsored prizes from our sponsors, see below. All contestants entered into the heats will have something to take away!
  • Heats start at 8pm while the final starts at 8:30pm.
  • Hurry, entries close on the 9th August for 1st Audition and 16th August for final audition!
  • All judges decisions are final, professional singers and all affiliated staff are not eligable to enter.
